Finca Casa Balaguer Malvasia Salicornio Orange Wine 750ml (12%)
100% MalvasĆa from Alicante, Spain.
Saline, textured, stone fruit
A textured, saline orange wine from vines grown just metres from the Mediterranean. Hand-harvested MalvasĆa grapes spend 5 days on skins before wild fermentation in concrete, followed by ageing on the lees.
Salicornio is named after a salt-loving coastal plant ā and this wine shares its seaside spirit. Light golden in colour with aromas of orange blossom, apricot and a touch of peach. The palate is dry, layered and gently grippy, with briny freshness, subtle citrus pith and lovely stone fruit weight.
Natural, unfiltered and zero sulphur added, this is an intensely characterful white with real texture and energy. A proper Mediterranean orange wine with soul and sea spray.
